Make Children and Women Count (MAkCAW) lobbies, advocates and provides free legal services to children in difficult circumstances in Zimbabwe. MAkCAW offers support to children in contact with the law as survivors of violence and as perpetrators of violence. This includes children in conflict with the law, families of children in conflict with the law, and communities affected by children’s criminal activities. In addition, the organization focuses on research, documentation and publishing key findings on children’s legal issues.
The Organization collaborates with the Life Skills, Education and Awareness pillar to ensure empowerment of Children. MAkCAW works with government departments such as Department of Social Service, Child Welfare and Probation Services, Zimbabwe Prison and Correction Services, Ministry of Justice-Legal Aid Directorate, Public Prosecutors and Magistrates.
